Basic Blue Rx has two affordable Medicare prescription drug plans – the Value and Standard plans – that are backed by Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Our plans can help you manage your prescription drug costs and avoid the Part D late enrollment penalty.

About Basic Blue Rx Value plan

Basic Blue Value is our lowest-premium Medicare Part D plan option. Thousands of preferred pharmacies are available to Value plan members, including CVS, AccessHealth, Leader Drug Stores and The Medicine Shoppe. You will usually pay less when you use a preferred pharmacy.

This plan may be a good fit for you if you:

  • Take mostly generic drugs that are covered on tier 1 or tier 2
  • Want to pay a low monthly premium
  • Need to fill your prescriptions while you travel in the U.S.
  • Would like coverage that can be paired with Original Medicare and a Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plan
  • Don’t take any prescription drugs today but want to avoid the Part D late enrollment penalty

About Basic Blue Rx Standard plan

Basic Blue Rx Standard is a low-premium Medicare Part D plan option with a robust network of preferred pharmacies. Thousands of preferred pharmacies are available to Standard plan members, including Kroger, Weis Markets, CVS and Walmart. You will usually pay less when you use a preferred pharmacy

This plan may be a good fit for you if you:

  • Take multiple generic and/or brand-name drugs
  • Want more access to preferred pharmacies
  • Need access to pharmacies when you travel across the U.S.
  • Would like coverage that can be paired with Original Medicare and a Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plan
  • Don’t take any prescription drugs today but want to avoid the Part D late enrollment penalty
